Side is halfway between the thriving beach town of Alanya and the beautiful city of Antalya. The weather in this area is predominantly better than in any other part of Turkey having almost 300 days of sunshine a year. The cost of living is still relatively low compared to the rest of Europe. The area has something to offer everyone, be it families, couples, the sportsman or the retired. 

Nightlife can be as lively and energetic as you choose with variety of bars and  discos. We are about five minutes walk for the local bars and restaurants, about twenty minutes walk to the Old Town, you could use the Dolmus and travel with the locals or a short taxi ride will take you to the unique atmosphere of a colourful, charming village within an ancient sight and beautiful sandy beaches promises a holiday full of pleasant surprises

A short bus ride  (Dolmus) to the bustling town of Manavagat, where you can take a boat trip to the beautiful waterfalls, or just sit and enjoy a drink or a meal at one of the many open air restaurants that are situated along the river bank is not to be missed 

Side Beaches

Side has the second longest white sand beach in all of Turkey.There is now a new walkway from Old Town Side all the way to Kumkoy,completed summer 2010.

The beach to the west of the town are backed by bars, restaurants and hotels and has sun beds, many of which are free of charge if you buy a drink from the restaurant which backs it. The beach front is open to all tourists and is very popular for early morning walkers and joggers. Even late in the evening this beach appears busy with people walking back from the Side town-center to their respective hotels located on the beach. For families this beach is the best choice, gently shelving and most suitable for small children. It takes about fifteen minutes to walk form our apartment to the beach.   

The beach to the east  is slightly more difficult to reach and therefore less busy than the West beach. A free beach bus service from the apartment or you  can  walk from the old town following the coastline, a picturesque walk that takes you through many ruins on your way, backed by sand dunes, there is nothing to spoil the skyline behind the beach except for the odd view of an ancient monument or a Roman wall. Facilities on the beach are quite basic, most snack bars and restaurants are family owned and have a very relaxed feel. Be prepared to pay for hire of sun beds and umbrellas. Be aware that the seabed on this beach drops quite dramatically about 3 meters out and the breaking waves can be quite rough.

 
You will find many water sports centres on both beaches, offering a good selection of activities, including para-gliding, water skiing, jet skis, banana boats and rings.
